Effective 9/1/2009 successful completion of a state-approved basic rider course is mandatory to get a motorcycle endorsement.

Requirements
 

• Know how to ride and balance a bicycle.
• Be at least 15 years on the day the course begins (Note: students under the age of 18 must have parent/legal guardian’s signatures on waivers/releases.)
• If you’re 15-24 years of age, you must present a valid automobile driver’s license or learner’s permit.
• If you’re 25 years of age or older, you must present identification documentation to confirm your identity (valid driver’s license, learner’s permit, passport or Texas ID card).
• Sturdy long pants and over-the-ankle footwear.
• Full-fingered gloves.
• Long-sleeved shirt or jacket.
• Protective eyewear.
• A helmet manufactured to meet U.S. DOT standards (available for loan at no cost).
• A great attitude and willingness to learn.

The Basic Rider Course is designed with the beginner in mind but experienced riders will benefit too.

The Basic Rider Course is a 15 hour course (5 hours of classroom and 10 hours on the motorcycle) that begins by focusing on basic motorcycle operation with an emphasis on clutch and throttle control.

Students will learn how to ride in a straight line, shift, stop and the basic of cornering before moving on to more advanced techniques such as stopping quickly, swerving, advanced cornering, and stopping quickly in a curve.

We provide motorcycles, helmets, insurance, skills and knowledge.

• Anyone that wants/needs a motorcycle license.
• Anyone trying to decide if motorcycling is for them.
• Anyone that has never operated a motorcycle before.
• Dirt bike riders that are transitioning to the street.
• Riders that have not been on a motorcycle in the last few (or more) years.
• Experienced riders that have never taken the Basic Rider Course.

• Licensing Test Waivers - Over 20 states waive some portion of your motorcycle-endorsement test, if you've completed successfully a RiderCourse^SM.

This one day course is designed for the experienced motorcyclist. You and your machine will practice survival techniques like stopping quickly and swerving. Have fun practicing cornering and weaves. Learn about entry speed and much more.

This is NOT a high performance riding course. Please note: You MUST have a VALID motorcycle license to take this course.
